Email Question

hey therw Koneksen,

I passed through your web site as i was searching for ways to solve my
connection problem. i’m currently residing in Malacca and these few
weeks, my internet connection has been lousy. I haven’t called TM yet
as i thought that it maybe coz of my connection problem. My first sign
is that i can’t aways connect to MSN, it leaves me a msg saying it had
accountered an error, and as were to troubleshoot it, it always stops
at the keyports. Sometimes getting online in msn is just pure luck as
i keep trying to reconnect to MSN. Now another serious problem has
arise, lately, connections to some webpages are taking too long and
sometimes they don’t even load, for instance, as i was to login to my
gmail accont, the webpage stucks half way and i was force to use this
simple html interface. Another similar problem is that in youtube.com,
i was unable to stream videos. Even if the whole webpage interface has
completely loaded, i would have to wait a freaking loing time for the
video to even start streaming. i’m not sure is it my laptop problem as
i’m connected wirelessly or my wireless router problem, or even
streamyx’s problem now. I’m using a Riger DB108-WL Wireless ADSL Modem
2/2+ (a modem with wireless).

Please help me with my predicament.

Thank You,

Sincerely,

Dexter

for my answer…

Dear Dexter,

what can i advice you to do first is try connected through wired,
and try to do manual connection instead of auto-connection.
because from my experience auto-connection would sometime give you this kind of issue.

i not sure what your problem is … but reading your entry …. i just would like to ask

    1. are you using a laptop?
    2. can you connect/ surf fine at other place?
    3. is the problem a recent one or a recurring one?

and one advise ….. just call the TM line 100 …. if you are using fixed line phone …. its free …. so just keep bugging them with your problem.

my experience with surfing/connection problem started when i start subscribing to TM Net (and i thought fixed line broadband is logically better than any wireless ones)… and it took 7 reports (in almost three months)… and about 5 visits from TM Net and Telekom technicians and engineer (in one occasion 4 guys actually came)….. the key is you have to keep bugging them if the problem persist …. well you are paying for it …. isn’t it…..

    May i add,
as a rule of thumb, try to connect thru dialing (not autodial) first, and try to solve any problems

    parameters that u can check
    1. thoughput – use 3rd party s/ware
    2. connected speed – certain modem can give u the speed the modem is connected to the DSLAM

I use a Riger DB108-WL, wireless ADSL Modem 2/2+, –everytime I log ff, and log on the next morning, my internet is down, I have to contact TM technical division to enable me connect again. The reason they give is “your connection hang”
I have followed their advice and disconnected my broadband connection before I log off. But again I cannot connect often, as it “hangs” always.
    Please advice?

    Thank you,

    Lingam

    Hi guys,

First of all: thanks for all the info provided on this site. It is clear and simple to understand!

A question I could not find an answer to on your site (perhaps I missed it) is: How do I configure the Riger DB 102 to auto-connection AND the use of a (ACER GX10005B) switch. I would like to have more PS’s access the net.
