Familiar with all the above? How about this one?

This is all the troubleshooting steps that Streamyx agent will ask you to do it but did they explain why you need to do it? And sometimes customer who think that they are smart enough, told them that he / she is the IT Engineer or what so ever and they don’t need to do all this troubleshooting. Hello? This is DSL technology and did you guys learn at your University how to install DSL Technology? And on certain time, you will heard this Streamyx agent just read it to you and request you to call back after did the troubleshooting…Humph.

So how we can bypass this matter and just request them to lodge an official report for our problem since we know that the problem is not from our site.

  1. First of all, shutdown your computer and modem.
  2. Bypass DSL Splitter if your using one. Not a normal splitter. It should be DSL Splitter.
  3. If your using the parallel line, please use the main socket.
  4. Do a direct connection, means telephone jack connect to modem, modem connect to computer.
  5. Then on back first your modem, make sure all the light stable then on back your computer. After you computer is on, make sure that its finish loading all the application. (Just leave it for 10 minutes).
  6. Try to make a connection again by dialing it. If successful, hooray!! But if not proceed to no (7)
  7. Cancel the dialing process.
  8. Check your NIC, how? Ok I’ll explain.
    • Go to Start, Mouse over to My Computer and right click on it. Click at the Properties.
    • Then it will pop-up System Properties Windows.
    • Click at the Hardware and click at Device Manager.
    • Then again it will pop-up Device Manager windows.
    • Now search for the Network Adapters at the white box there and click on it.
    • So you will see your NIC name and make sure it enable. Try to disable and enable it back.
    • After done that, please close all the windows.
  9. Then go to Start back, and click at the Control Panel.
  10. Inside the Control Panel, click at the Network Connection.
  11. There you will see an icon of you NIC inside the LAN categories. Right click on itand click on Repair.
  12. Wait until it successful repair and try to disable/ enable it back.
  13. Close back all the windows and go to Start, and click to RUN and type cmd.
  14. Inside the black box, type “netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt” – to reset back all the NIC log. After successful, please restart back your computer.
  15. After your computer is totally load, try to dial it back. If still unsuccessful, please try to re-install back the Dialer.

If the entire step are unsuccessful, do call the Streamyx Helpdesk to lodge a report and request them to check the DSLAM connection whether it’s up or not. Told them that you’re already tried all this troubleshooting and confirm that the faulty is not from your side.

Good Luck!
