Oh You Didn’t Know?

What are the differences between 1Mb and 1MB?

1Mb – 1,000,000 bits (Megabit)
1MB – 1,048,576 bytes or 1,048 kilobytes (Megabyte)

So what is the relation between MB and Mb? Let me put it this way, 1 Megabyte equivalent to 1,000,000 bits which is equal to 125,000 bytes or 125 kilobytes.

So if you’re Streamyx subscribers you will notice that why your maximum speed of download is 125 kilobytes per second and it’s due to 1Mb.
Commonly subscriber first impression is Mb is the definition for Megabyte, so how many PC user or subscriber understand how is work, what did it try to tell and “what is the actual transfer rate of 1 Mb”. Subscriber always think that they can download file at the speed of one Megabyte per second.

But actually did they know? Streamyx Helpdesk? How about you just try called them and ask about this differences? Can they answer? I bet they wouldn’t know this thing.

Just another fact fromm me to your guys.

Happy Surfing!

Is it right? because i think its

    1 Megabytes = 1 000 000 bytes = (1 000 000/8) bits = 125 000 bits = 125 kilobits

    *correct me if im wrong
