Port forwarding

People always mention to me on how well their connection when they use port forwarding. When you are part of the torrent community, they always ask you to do port forwarding for a greater uploading and downloading speed. But do you know it could harm you computer?

If you use port forwarding, it’s almost the same as you drill a hole at your house. Eventually, you are also inviting an unknown insect into your house without you even noticing it. So after a while, your own house became invaded by these insects. These scenarios are the same as your computer if you use port forwarding.

Why? Because you give exception for anything to go through without having the need of your system to check it thoroughly. It doesn’t matter if you have a powerful anti-virus or spyware software because once you give the exception, damage has been done.

Crackers easily can plant something inside your computer and much worst if they know you IP address. By using right tools they can easily scan your computer for any loop holes due to the port forwarding. In the end, if you use your internet for online banking, there are chances that these crackers will know all your personal information. Pretty amazing huh?

Please think deeply before configuring your router to forward connections on certain port to your computer. It could do more harm than good.

I personally dont think port forwarding can do any harm to computer if you know what you’re doing.

Drilling a hole at home isnt wrong at all if you know that hole is juz for a water pipe.

After all, bunch of virus get into your customer computer juz becoz port 80 isn’t always monitored. Same as equal to port forwarding.

So, juz to be safe, please use antivirus. A Solid solution is trusted AntiVirus + firewall.
